Removing Stomach Fat

How many times have you gazed at your stomach fat in the mirror? Apart from the fact that your clothes don’t fit you the way they used to when you were fitter and slimmer, your stomach fat is a large warehouse of diseases. The roots of many serious illnesses have been found to be the cause of stomach fat. Obesity, diabetes and cholesterol are just a few of them.

The main cause of stomach fat is associated with improper dietary habits and lack of adequate physical activity. If you have been blaming it on genetics, stress and other excuses such as poor digestion, it is time to wake up. Yes, it is caused due to hypertension, stress and sometimes based on the body type, but these factors do not trigger it as much as lack of exercise and unhealthy eating habits. It is also true that men are prone more to stomach fat than women, because in men the fat deposition is more around the middle portion and in women more on the hips and thighs.

Begin fighting stomach fat by firstly identifying the root causes of it. Avoid eating late at nights, just before bedtime. Maintain a correct posture. Wrong methods of standing and sitting such as hunching will only help enhance the stomach fat. Stand erect because your posture makes a huge difference. As we tend to age, our body metabolism slows down. External factors such as physical exercise and climate also affect your metabolism. Particularly for women, menopause is a phase after which body starts storing stomach fat more.

Once you have determined the cause for it, start making amendments. The two main factors
1.      Proper diet and
2.      Adequate Exercise can help you fight off your stomach fat.

Innumerous types of diets exist today, catering to the requirement of almost any body type with any condition. Diets specific to people suffering from diseases like diabetes are available aplenty. Visit a doctor or a nutritionist for advice on which diet you should choose in context to your age, gender, physical activity and requirement. They will be able to help you choose the right kind of food items that are healthy in addition to satisfying your cravings and appetite. Adopt a proper diet and stick to it. Many people fail because they set unrealistic targets for themselves. This discourages them causing non-adherence. A strong will and sound mental approach is necessary when undertaking changes in lifestyle and food habits. Expect these changes if you want to change the way you look.

Numerous exercises are aimed at spot targeting stomach fat. The effects of these exercise varies from person to person. Instead, a global approach should be followed aiming at greater general fitness and flexibility rather than just spot reduction of any part. Make a blend of different types of exercises consisting of aerobic and anaerobic ones. Aerobic exercises like cycling, swimming, kick boxing, etc aim at raising the heart rate for longer time durations. This helps increase body metabolism too. Anaerobic exercises such as weight training and sprinting involve use of weights. This develops muscle amount in the body, which in turn helps burn fat. Additional benefits to bones and joints and enhanced strength are observed when anaerobic exercises are executed.

Once you have planned and executed these two main aspects of your journey towards better health, it won’t be long before you see the stomach fat melt away giving you a leaner, fitter look and an energetic body and mind.
