Lip Infection
Lip Infection when not treated will lead to lip ulceration and blisters. There are different kinds of remedies to cure lip infection. What we all know is a simple oral care like brushing our teeth and gargling anti-microbial formula. Lip wound resulting from fights from fights and accidentally biting our lips and tongue are common and may vary generally in severity. Thorns or fish hooks that embed in our lips may cause a sever pain and irritations. Lip infection may develop secondary to wound. Severe periodontal disease will develop chelitis. Lip infection also can be associated with parasitic infections and neoplasma. Inflammation of the lips can be classified as chronic and acute.
Here are common lip infections.
Chelitis. A person with chelitis may suffer severe itchiness of the lips and mouth lining. A person with chelitis will have a foul mouth odor and ulcerated skin. The mouth area should be cleaned. A topical diaper rash cream may also apply as this will suits lip from itchiness.
Burn lips. Burn lips wether from sunburn, waxing or just an accident cause are painful, noticeable and irritating. However it doesn’t mean that you will stay in your house for longer times. A burn lips is easy to heal and heal quickly with the right treatment. How to treat burn lips easily?
Apply cold compress to affected area.
Soothe with vitamin E or if vitamin E is not present, you can soothe lips with an aloe.
Apply topical pain reliever.
Fungal lip. Fungus is a yeast overgrowth. It causes the mouth to swell. This often cause by stress and antibiotic overdose. In case of fungal lip, apply liquid acidophilus or yogurt in the affected area many times in a day. The fungus breed on close and damp area it feeds on dead skin cells. Precautionary measures of fungal lip infections.
- Keep the affected area clean.
- Wash the area and pat dry. Do not wipe as this may contribute to irritation.
- Bath daily to ensure clean body
- Keep affected area dry.
- Apply aloe vera gel on the affected area. Aloe vera gel has a cooling effect and aids burned lips.
- Always remember the saying, ‘prevention is better than cure’. It is also true that ‘precaution is the best solution for infections’.
Dysesthesia. Dysesthesia most commonly affect women after menopause. The most commonly affected area of the mouth is the tongue. The person suffering from Dysesthesia suffers from burning sensation of the tongue. In rare cases the burning sensation is felt all over the mouth including the palate. The burning sensation is gradual but continuous.
Carcinoma of the lips. Carcinoma of the lips is a lesion that is found in the lips. The lesion is characterized by tenderness, and it grow in size. Carcinoma of the lips is aggravated thru longer sun exposure. Carcinoma of the lip is comparatively ordinary in the neck and head. The contributing factors of lip carcinoma are smoking, prolonged exposure to the sun and inborn factor of fair white complexion. It is because a person with whiter skin lacks melanin in their body.
To avoid lip infection it is always best that we take extra oral care. Regular brushing of teeth, gargling mouthwash or antiseptics solution and cleaning the face. Always remember that prevention is better than cure.
